Sumana Silverheels is the Technology Accommodations Coordinator in the Disability Services office at Buffalo State College. Prior to starting at Buffalo State in August of 2010 Sumana was the Assistive Technology Training Director at the Center for Assistive Technology, University at Buffalo for over 14 years. She has extensive experience providing evaluations and trainings in assistive technology for all ages and disabilities. Sumana continues to be a resource to students with disabilities at Buffalo State College helping them implement assistive technology for increased independence and success in their college education. She participates in many outreach activities within Buffalo State to promote accessibility of instructional information. In the community, as a member and office holder for the WNY Collegiate Consortium of Disability Advocates, she actively provides resources for professionals, parents and high school students with disabilities to support effective and successful transition to college.
