Roles and Responsibilities of the Testing Center
In our effort to operate with efficiency and integrity while providing a welcoming environment, and to ensure that all stakeholders understand their role and responsibilities in the exam process, the following information is provided regarding the role and responsibilities of the Testing Center.
Provide students registered with Student Accessibility Services with a location to have their exams administered during Testing Center hours of operation in order to receive their exam accommodations as approved by Student Accessibility Services.
Administer exams according to the direction provided by the Instructor.
Reserve a seat for students who schedule their exam appointments in accordance with Testing Center policy up to the capacity of the Testing Center. If the capacity of the Testing Center is reached for a given date/time and the exam appointment was made in accordance with Testing Center policy, the Learning + Accommodations Specialist can work with the Instructor and the student to coordinate a solution. (Mid-Term and Final Exam periods excluded).
Keep the seat reserved for the student for the 15-minute grace period. The 15-minute grace period being defined as the first fifteen minutes after the approved scheduled start time of the exam.
After the 15-minute grace period, a student arriving to take an exam is considered late and their seat is no longer considered reserved. Even if the direction provided by the Instructor allows for late exam administration; the ability to administer an exam becomes dependent on availability of space and staffing in the Testing Center.
The Testing Center cannot guarantee exam appointments made outside any Testing Center policy will be accepted.
